June 6–10, 2025: Residents begin organising community action, contacting local organisations and setting up an awareness campaign.
June 10, 2025: Contact made with MP Dr Luke Evans and other planning authorities, raising awareness and seeking support.
June 10–11, 2025: Campaign group reaches out to national and local heritage and countryside organisations including CPRE (Campaign to Protect Rural England), The Georgian Group, The Ramblers Association, The Woodland Trust, and Planning Aid England. Responses received from several bodies offering advice and conditional support.
June 11, 2025: HandsOffTopStreet.co.uk website launched to coordinate objections and distribute information.
June 12, 2025: Contact made with local media including Burton Mail, Ashby Nub News, and Lichfield Live, some of which expressed interest in covering the story.
Ongoing: Evidence gathering continues, including drone surveys, environmental assessments, and identification of ancient/veteran trees. Community meetings and social media outreach underway.
June 18, 2025: Developer's stated deadline for public feedback via their consultation website.
Upcoming: Awaiting formal submission of a planning application by Cameron Homes. Community is preparing objections for submission via the planning portal.
